Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the JM e-Stories website, the JM Reader web reader, and the JM Reader Android app, including reader sign-in, personal library access, continue-reading features, and offline reading functions.

1. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the service, JM e-Stories and JM Reader may collect the following information:

• Email address used for reader sign-in, verification, account access, and support communication.
• Reader access information such as verification details and approved library access status.
• Device-related information such as a device identifier or device label where needed for security, offline reading control, or session protection.
• Reading progress and local reader settings such as last page viewed, font settings, line spacing, theme choice, or offline reader preferences.
• Offline reading files stored on the user’s device when the user saves approved content for offline access.
• Basic technical information needed to deliver the service, maintain security, and troubleshoot service problems.

2. How information is used

We use information for legitimate service purposes, including:

• providing reader sign-in and library access;
• verifying approved access to protected stories or eBooks;
• supporting continue-reading features and reader personalisation;
• enabling and protecting offline reading functions;
• responding to support questions and account-related requests;
• improving performance, security, and reliability of JM e-Stories and JM Reader.

3. Sharing of information

JM e-Stories does not sell personal information. Information is not shared for advertising purposes inside JM Reader. Information may be processed through the technical services used to operate the platform, such as secure hosting, delivery, or platform infrastructure, only as necessary to run the service and protect it.

4. Offline reading and local storage

JM Reader may store approved reading files, reading progress, and reader preferences on the user’s device to support offline reading and a smoother reading experience. Users can remove local offline copies from the reader settings where that function is available, or by deleting app/browser data on their device.

5. Security and data protection

JM e-Stories and JM Reader aim to protect reader information through reasonable technical and organisational measures, including secure service delivery over trusted web connections where available. However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Ads

JM Reader does not display third-party advertising inside the app itself unless clearly stated otherwise in the future. If that changes, the relevant disclosures in the app and in app-store settings should also be updated.

7. Children and age suitability

JM Reader is a digital reading platform. Publishers and platform managers should ensure that content made available through the service is suitable for the intended audience and that any age-restricted content is handled responsibly.

8. User choices and requests

Users may contact JM e-Stories through the Contact page to ask questions about their information, request corrections, or request account-related assistance. Requests will be handled in line with applicable operational and legal requirements.

9. Policy updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect service improvements, legal requirements, or platform changes. The most current version published on this page will apply.
